Asphalt Rejuvenation

Pavement Dressing Conditioner

Pavement Dressing Conditioner

Pavement Dressing Conditioner is our most effective asphalt rejuvenator.  Our company warrants from the date PDC is applied and for a period of three years thereafter, this rejuvenator will not flake, peel or chip or Carolina Pavement Technology, Inc. will reapply as necessary. Further, Carolina Pavement Technology, Inc. will warrant the treated surface to be fuel resistant and remain fuel resistant for a period of three years after the date of application.

This guarantee shall be effective only if spills are cleaned per FAA regulations. Carolina Pavement further warrants the asphalt rejuvenator will reduce the viscosity (ASTMD-2170) in the top one half inch of the treated asphalt surface.  Pavement Dressing Conditioner is a patented sealer consisting of a blend of coal tar and petroleum oils designed to penetrate the pavement surface to rejuvenate and rehabilitate the asphaltic binder. The product is sprayed on the surface with a customized applicator. The amount of rejuvenator applied is determined by a pre-test, to obtain the optimum result. Minimum surface preparation is involved. The treated surface can usually reopen within 24 hours of completion. Asphalt Rejuvenator will NOT crack, peel or delaminate and provides surface protection against fuel, oil and other contaminants with a uniform black finish.

Pavement Condition experiences three stages of deterioration during the life of a pavement surface. Asphalt Rejuvenation is an effective method of delaying these effects and rejuvenating the asphaltic binder.

Stage I: Surface color fades to gray as a result of oxidation and surface oils begin to evaporate.

Stage II: Fine line cracking occurs along with loss of “fines” (minute crushing material) and the surface brittles.

Stage III: Deterioration accelerates with extended cracking, increasing brittleness and viscosity while reducing flexibility. Contaminates penetrate through crack, further hastening deterioration from below the surface.

Seal Coating Services

Carolina Pavement provides superior coal tar sealants for cost effective applications as well as Asphalt Based Sealer. The quality of seal coating services, like all pavement maintenance repairs varies greatly among contractors. While other contractors may take short cuts by applying a diluted product and only one coat of material, Carolina Pavement only applies seal coating material that meets or exceeds federal specifications and we always apply a minimum of two coats of material and recommend three coats to drive lanes and high traffic areas.

Liquid Road

Liquid Road Surface Treatment

Liquid Road is a black, fast-drying, bituminous surface treatment that is cold applied by a squeegee and spray machine.  It is also a high performance mineral and fiber reinforced asphalt emulsion blended with polymers and special surfactants for superior adhesion, flexibility, and durability. Liquid Road replenishes the binder that is lost through oxidation and weathering, while providing a slip resistant durable surface treatment.   Liquid Road’s deep, rich black color gives old, oxidized pavement a “like new” surface that melts snow and ice faster, and reduces cleaning and maintenance costs.  Liquid Road is also environment friendly.  It does not contain asbestos and is a water based pavement sealer containing less than 150 grams per liter volatile organic content (VOC).

Carolina Pavement Liquid Road Features

  • Bring a fresh new look to pavement
  • Covers an crack filled bands
  • Reasonable road closing time
  • Most cost effective surface treatment
  • Extends the life of your pavement surface

Crack Sealing and Pavement Maintenance

Posted: September 21, 2012
Crack Sealing

Allow us to extend the life of your pavement by treating your existing cracks.  We specialize in Hot Pour Crack Sealing.  Crack Sealing is a vital part of pavement maintenance.  As asphalt pavements ages, it oxidizes and shrinks.  This causes random cracking throughout the pavement. Cracks lead to potholes. Properly sealing asphalt cracks as they appear can more than double the effective service life of the pavement.  Crack sealing is an inexpensive and routine maintenance treatment that will help delay roadway and parking lot deterioration by preventing water and moisture intrusion into the sub-base.

Notable Crack Sealing Projects:

Military Highway (Virginia), Alamance Regional Hospital (Burlington, NC), Riverstone Residential (Cary, Raleigh, Durham,) Riverwood Properties Atlanta, GA

Asphalt and Concrete Services

Seal Coating Services

To help eliminate and prevent any future damage or expenses we recommend full depth asphalt patching.  This procedure removes the material in the failed area, stabilizes existing sub base, and replaces it with fresh hot asphalt.  Areas that should be considered include but not limited to: “alligator “asphalt, slippage, pot holes, heaves or swells, rutting.

Asphalt overlays are suitable options for large areas of pavement that need to be attended to. We recommend all damaged areas be cut out and patch first. We perform asphalt overlays at 1 ½ in -2 in thickness compressed.  Meaning after new asphalt is rolled.  A careful crafted overlay parking will give the appearance of a brand new parking lot.

We can assist with any concrete needs.  Our services include sidewalks, curbs/gutters, dumpster pads and other flat work.  We also suggest rebar or fiber mesh for heavy duty concrete that exceeds 4” concrete work.

Notable Asphalt and Concrete Services Projects

The Pantry (North Carolina), Crescent Green Business Park (Cary, NC), La Quinta (Cary, NC), Carrboro Plaza (Chapel Hill, NC), Cary Auto Mall (Cary, NC), Coastal Federal Credit Union (Raleigh and Cary, NC)
